Last week I donned a flame retardant jump suit and hard hat to visit a natural gas storage facility. Learning about capacity, transmission, storage and safety issues is good. My work on the Technology, Economic Development and Energy Committee only makes my belief in the need for comprehensive state and federal energy policies more intense. Most of us who enjoy cooking with gas don't have a clue as to how it is generated, stored, transmitted, and safely delivered in our state for the past 40 years. Why is it being burned off in Canada oil fields in favor of putting crude oil on trains? Stay tuned and share your thoughts. This issue is only going to get more important and the time is right for the public to pay attention and stay very involved!
